The Caunes market takes place in the wide parkade at the centre of the town. Fabulous vegetables, olives, cheeses, and wildly colourful flowers add even more colour to the 15th century houses that line the site.
Caunes has it own regular market days three times a week. Only sixteen kilometres away is Carcassonne with a large market on the town square three times a week. As well, Carcassonne has a large infrastructure for other needs as well as being a major tourist site itself because of the "cité", one of the oldest walled citadels still standing in Europe today.
