The House

continued . . .

The front entrance leads up stairs into the séjour or kitchen-dining room. There is a wood-burning fireplace and gas heaters that provide heat on cool winters' nights. There is a table and chairs as well as a peninsula in the kitchen. The kitchen was designed to be a cooks' delight. The French take great pride in the preparation of meals and this fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave as well as a dishwasher. The dramatic staircase ascends to the bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a small "powderroom" on the entry level for those emergencies.

There is a laundry room on the entry level as well with a washer and a dryer. We tend not to put our clothes in the dryer in the fair weather as we love the fresh smell of things hung outside.
